An EV has three major components Lithium-ion cells in the Battery pack Store electrical energy->Electric Motors converts electrical energy into mechanical rotation->Onboard charger+inverter converts AC power from a wall socket into DC power to fill the battery. The battery also gets charged by regenerative braking where the motor runs in reverse acting as a generator and feeding electricity back to the battery.
